As I was walking through Times Square the other day I saw a man preaching to the non-converted (see pic). I was inspired to blog. ![]()
For the last three years I’ve been working at Brightcove (Jeremy Allaire’s new joint), which is why I care about who’s learning to edit video. If you haven’t followed, Brightcove is an online video platform, which is used by a bunch of very cool media companies.
The point about BC (aside from shilling for my employer) is only relevant because I spent most of my tech career a bit lower in the stack (application servers, development tools, etc.). Now I’m starting to think about the Web as a medium (not just a bunch of technology) and that’s led to a few new observations worth sharing.
On top of that, working in a start-up apparently gives me license to talk about business, marketing, etc.
I figure I have maybe 40-50 useful things to say, so my plan is to run the blog for a year with about one substantive post a week and a few other random things so people don’t turn off the RSS feed. Enjoy.
